Reading Group ‘Enacting and Re-enacting Homelands’ with Dr. Shashikala Assella

In this second Reading Group associated with ‘The Foreigners’, join Dr. Shashikala Assella, Senior Professor and Head of the Department of English, University of Kelaniya, to critically engage with ‘Song of the Sun God’ (2017) by Shankari Chandran alongside the artworks on view. Dr. Assella will do a close reading of selected chapters of the book in relation to notions of the diaspora and home. The text will be emailed to all participants upon registration and it is recommended that they read it before attending the Reading Group.
This Reading Group has been curated as part of the Public Programmes of the exhibition ‘The Foreigners’, on view until 22 October 2023.
