Gallery Talk: ‘Geddes and the Garden City’ with Ramla Wahab-Salman and Sumedha Kelegama

Researcher and Executive Director of the American Institute for Lankan Studies, Ramla speaks to Artist and Architect Sumedha. They speak about Conservative Surgery by Patrick Geddes as an approach to community housing, participatory architecture, and the modern Garden City. Minnette De Silva (1918–1998), in her design for the Watapuluwa Housing Scheme (1958), took inspiration from Geddes’ work.
