Sureka, Johann, and Sahan on flute and Dinelka on electronics respond to the artworks in Display 2 of Rotation 2 of ‘Encounters. The display revolves around a large-scale installation of paintings of birds by Gamini Ratnavira (b. 1949) originally commissioned for the Habarana Lodge (Cinnamon Lodge Habarana). These artworks are placed in conversation with a site plan of the Kandalama Hotel (Heritance Kandalama) by Laki Senanayake (1937–2021). The works by Ratnavira and Senanayake can be viewed in ‘Encounters’ until 13 November 2022.
