Tissa de Alwis is a sculptor who works with the mediums of clay and plasticine. Over the past 40 years, he has developed a unique artistic practice that encompasses miniature figures made of plasticine, wire and found objects. As an artist, he has developed a unique teaching approach engaging young people to think about nature and environmental conservation. He taught at the British School in Colombo for eight years, and has conducted several clay workshops for children of all ages. He lives and works in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
