Reading Group: ‘Shakespeare, Postcoloniality, and the Other’
7 October Saturday, 3–5pm
In this fifth and final Reading Group associated with ‘The Foreigners’, join academic and researcher Sachini Seneviratne to engage critically with power, otherness, and belonging from a postcolonial perspective. She will closely read Act 3 Scene V of Aime Cesaire’s 1969 adaptation of ‘The Tempest’ by William Shakespeare (translated by Richard Miller). The text will be emailed to all participants upon registration, and it is recommended that they read it before attending the Reading Group.
This Reading Group has been curated as part of the Public Programmes of the exhibition ‘The Foreigners’, on view until 22 October 2023.
