Join us for a screening of the film ‘Viragaya’ (1987) directed by Tissa Abeysekara (1939–2009), based on the novel of the same name from 1956 by Martin Wickramasinghe (1890–1976). The film stars Sanath Gunathilake, Sabeetha Perera, Sriyani Amrasena, and Joe Abeywickrama. The English translation of the novel, titled ‘The Way of the Lotus Viragaya’ (1985) by Ashley Halpe can be viewed in ‘Encounters’ until 19 March 2023.
The film will be screened in Sinhala along with English subtitles.
